How to clean up your patio with Nellie's!

Posted on

It’s that time of year to scrub the BBQ grills and refresh outdoor furniture! Nellie’s has safe, planet-friendly cleaning products to get your patio ready for this summer’s grilling and chilling!

Plastic, Metal and Glass:

Plastic, metal, and resin are the most popular choices for deck and lawn furniture due to their affordability and easy maintenance.  We don’t recommend using chemical or abrasive cleaners which can scratch and damage the surface. Instead, spray furniture with Nellie’s All-Purpose Cleaner and wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Tip: Our All-Purpose Cleaner also works great on glass and windows!

Wicker, and Wood:

Work in small sections with a scoop of Nellie’s Laundry Soda mixed in warm water and dry thoroughly when finished. Use a toothbrush to get into the weaves of wicker. Resist using oils on your wood outdoor furniture as it can cause mildew!

Outdoor Fabrics:

Tackle seat covers, fabrics and last summer's stains with the Nellie’s WOW Stick! Once treated, hand wash fabrics with a solution of Laundry Soda, warm water, and a scrub brush.  Check the fabric’s washing instructions and if allowed toss in the washing machine with Laundry Soda and Oxygen Brightener on a gentle cycle, and air dry.

Barbeque:

Make your barbeque shine this summer by washing the interior and exterior with Nellie’s One Soap, warm water, and a damp cloth. Tackle the grills with a BBQ grill brush and One Soap. For tougher grill build-up, soak grills for 30 minutes in hot water and two scoops of Oxygen Brightener prior to cleaning. Once grills are clean, heat the BBQ for 15 minutes to ensure cleaning agents are burnt off!

Decks and Railings:

Clean railings with Nellie’s plant-based All-Purpose Cleaner and a damp cloth. Since pets and little ones may be hanging out or eating off the deck flooring, wash down the deck with Nellie’s chemical-free One Soap and hose to rinse.
