End of summer patio clean-up!
As summer winds down, here are some planet-friendly ways you can clean your patio and patio furniture before storing it away for the winter. This will protect your investment and make summer '23's setup a little easier.
Cleaning Plastic, Metal and glass:
Plastic, metal, and resin are the most popular choices for deck and lawn furniture due to their affordability and easy maintenance. We don't recommend using chemical or abrasive cleaners which can scratch and damage the surface. Instead, spray furniture with Nellie's All-Purpose Cleaner and wipe it clean with a damp Swedish Dishcloth. Tip: Our All-Purpose Cleaner also works great on glass and windows!
Wicker and Wood:
Work in small sections with a scoop of Nellie's Laundry Soda in warm water and dry thoroughly when finished. Use a toothbrush to get summer barbeque crumbs from in the weaves of the wicker. Resist using oils on your wood outdoor furniture as it can cause mildew!
Outdoor Fabrics:
To tackle seat covers and fabrics, treat stains with Nellie's WOW Stick. Once treated, hand wash fabrics with a solution of Laundry Soda, warm water, and a scrub brush. Check the fabric's washing instructions and if allowed, toss in the washing machine with Laundry Soda and Oxygen Brightener on a gentle cycle and air to dry.
Decks and Railings:
Clean railings with Nellie's plant-based All-Purpose Cleaner and a Swedish Dishcloth. Scrub the deck with Nellie's chemical-free One Soap and a scrub brush, and hose to rinse. Maintain your decking all year long using Nellie's WOW TOO!
